So anyone that knows me, knows that I am enough of a dork to do things like sing my own theme song when I enter a room. Yeah, I’m a dork. I’ve come to terms with it. 😉
I recently came across this song that could not be a better theme song for 2016. It encompasses everything I’ve been thinking and feeling lately.
It’s sung by a great group of fellas called Gentri. If you ever get the chance to go see them in concert- go, they are a lot of fun. But this song is called “Soldier” and I love it. I’ve been singing it to myself a lot lately.
We all are going through things, I don’t care who you are. Whether you’re a single mom wondering where rent money is going to come from, or you’re dealing with a chronic disease or illness, or you’re risking your life every day to be a cop or firefighter or an over-worked underpaid social worker…maybe you’re just so lonely you’re not sure how to get out of bed in the morning. The message is, we are all fighting our own battles and much of the time we feel like we are fighting them alone. It’s time to dig deep and find the soldier in all of us. Fight the fight and don’t allow your challenges to destroy you. These trials will not and can not last forever.
You aren’t alone. You will come through this. You will be stronger. You will survive. You’re a fighter. So take a listen to this song, and remember tomorrow is made today.
